The following web locations are a variety of the sites that I have worked on, created, used for testing,
provide on-going support for etc.
http://www.databaseadvisors.com
The Database Advisor is the site belonging a list of 300 to 500 database developers
|
I have worked on the web site since 2002. Since taken responsibility, as the Webmaster
for this site I have re-written the code 3 times.
Once, to give it a new look. This version used iframes. With this design only
one copy of the menus were required and increasing the screen size had little affect on the structure.
The second re-design was move away from complex graphic roll-overs for the menuing and to allow the
site to optimize it appearance to the surround screen sizes. Extensive use of CSS produced
excellent results. (CSS can still not easily create relational rows across multiple columns but...)
The third iteration is still in progress. The whole site was converted to ASP/VB script
and much more JavaScript was incorporated. Some of the pages are being generated through
ASP scripts pulling data from a MS SQL 2000 server. This transformation is still in
progress as a full ADMIN section is being created so that data can be easily added,
updated and deleted. Standards are still being negotiated amongst the members.

http://www.IslandIllustrators.org
This site belongs to the Island Illustrators Society. The organization
only accepts members who are professional artists.
|
The is a volunteer site that I have Webmastered for about 4 years. The sites presents has sold
many painting, print, art shows and connected the artists with potential clients.
|
http://www.AlmadeEspana.com
The is the site of Alma de Espana, the Victoria Flamenco Company.
|
I took over site management after the company that created the initial pages bowed out.
Though I have maintained the site for just over 2 years the graphics and fix page sizes
have remained. The under-lying code has enjoyed a complete re-design and is now very stable.
The last major upgrade was applied to the front page. The new open source music player
XSPF is being used

www.IslandArtist.com
This is a sample site created for local Artists using ColdFusion
|
Upon request this site was quickly created to demonstrate how a commercial site could be assembled
for local artists.
|
www.MirandaLawrence.com
This is a site designed for leading Artist Maria Miranda Lawrence.
|
The site was created to host the work of COPA award winning artist Maria Miranda Lawrence.
A lot of photography and graphic work was required to enhance and standardize the photos. Adobe
Photoshop and Painter were used. Almost 150 images were required. Because of the limitations of
SHAW web hosting a complex JavaScript was devised to handle product sales

www.saramarreiros.com
This is a site designed for FADO singer Sara Marreiros.
|
The site uses the fixed size concept. Instead of strickly using iframes to hold
and control the borders in position and number of Flash code segments were created.
All the graphic work was done by Graphic and Fashion Designer Corinna Jasmine Lawrence and much
of the Flash animation was created by Hans Andersen. I have continued to support the site and will
be doing a major revision upon the next CD release.

The following Desktop applications are just a few of programs that I have created and are listed here
to give some insight into the designing and coding issues worked through.
|
The Registration System for the Gaming Protection and Security Department
|
The Registration application had a number of limitations places ahead of its deployment,
financial, performance and infra-structure. It took close to a year to create, design and
manage but in the end it was a successful implementation and the clients felts that all the
goals had been successfully met and surpassed. For further details follow the link.

The PCAGE Reporting Application for Gaming and Policy
|
The PCAGE application was designed to create reports as to the client's requirements. The program
was created in MS Access and connected to the departments major Oracle applications, CAGE and FIGARO.
The data could be gathered from both Oracle applications and was cross-checked between the two data
sources. The resultant information was either used to create printed reports or transferred to
MS Excel spreadsheet Office program and was then used to generate graphs and charts for Ministry
meeting, accounting and data summaries.

The MILK Board Point of Sale application for Dairies
|
This Point-of-Sale application was written specifically for the use of Dairies. Dairy production and
sales are taxed on the amount of Butter-Fat that is in the product being sold. (For example taxes
on 1% milk would only be 50% of the taxes added to 2% milk.) The BE database was split between
its internal proprietary DB and the database from ACCPA accounting system. The application could
draw the client information for ACPAC and download the sales into ACPAC. The application was sold
to a number of Dairies in the province and was designed to be supported remotely. The original
application was written in a programming language called Clarion and was
re-written in Visual Basic to take advantage of the multi-user and Windows OS environments.
The application was written to work within a Novell network as was either used in a stand alone or
in a multi-user network environment. The application was designed to be quick enough to produce
invoices in real-time, batch process to the ACPAC and produce reports that would satisfy government
accounting requirements.
