To whom it may concern,
For the past several years I have had the pleasure of working with,
and supervising, Jim Lawrence at the Gaming Policy and Enforcement
Branch.
In working with Jim, I soon realized that he is a highly capable individual
with a vast range of knowledge. Jim was an invaluable asset to our
workplace as he designed, developed, implemented, and maintained several
high-level custom applications for branch use. Additional responsibilities
included interpreting data models, managing branch data, programming
tasks, and developing applications for specific business needs, in
which Jim performed with a high level of excellence. Jim was regrettably
lost to our branch as the result of a large reorganization we went
through earlier this year.
His technical knowledge is very impressive and his programming skills
are excellent.
Jim quickly grasps concepts and enjoys taking on new challenges.
He continually offered new solutions to complex problems in many areas
of our systems.
Jim has a very pleasant demeanor and has very good interpersonal
skills. He will prove to be a very valuable asset to any organization
to which he belongs. His depth and breadth of knowledge is far beyond
today's average systems staff person. His vast experience along with his
continuous need to learn and understanding has kept him at the top of his field.
I must say it was an absolute pleasure to work with Jim, and should the
chance ever rise to bring him back into our branch I would welcome
the opportunity.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like to further discuss
Jim's abilities,

Sincerely,
Douglas Talbot
