
Jim Lawrence
graduated from
Notre Dame University and
Kootenay School of Art,
in 1973. (honors)
He worked for the Provincial Government managing Resource Mapping and Drafting in
a number of mapping departments. From 1978 to 1988, he worked for the
Surveyor General's Department, in the Computer Graphics section, where
he developed many of the system utilities and designed a full surveying application.
In 1988, he left the government to start his own company, J & M Business
Systems Inc., where he worked until Syscom Consulting Inc. bought up
his company.
He worked for Syscom Consulting Inc. for the next nine years as a
System Specialist, Developer and Systems Consultant until 2000.
Since then he has been back to school, learning E-Commerce Web design and
development and doing private consulting and development work for businesses
and government agencies.
In 2003, he was hired, on a one year contract, by the Provincial government to
work with Oracle applications, producing custom reports and
performing various system and development tasks.
From 2004 and to the present, he has contracted a to number companies providing
support services like Server and station installations and providing database and
web based design and consulting assistance. He has also continued developing his .Net skills sets.
He is presently designing a large integrated project that will create a web-based application featuring
a POS and an Accounting System written in ASP.Net, AJAX, ADO.Net and MS SQL 2005.
